Fall Stream

Fall Stream

I took this picture along the Great Western Trail near Salamander Flat.
Fall is coming to its peak, and it feels like winter is very close by.
Oh yeah, and I hate noisy people on ATV’s that roar around the mountain
ruining the quiet. Maybe not all of them, just most.

People are always asking me what I do for a living .
I always tell them I dig big holes, put stuff in , and then bury them.
It’s a little more complicated than that, but I figured I could post a pic so people could see.

Almost Fall in American Fork Canyon

The leaves have started to change in American Fork Canyon. Biking in the mountains will soon be over for the year, and I will have to head south if I want to ride.

Ugly Mug Mountain Biking

Went out on a ride with my cousin Kevin yesterday along the Timpooneke Road and some of the trails that take off from it. It was his first time going on a real ride. I don't think I punished him to bad and if so I am sure he will pay me back this winter on the slopes.
No wrecks, only a few close calls, an amazing sunset, and a stop off at the Owl bar for some suds ended a perfect day on the mountain.

Bonneville Shoreline Trail

Shorline above Water tower

So I tried a new mountain bike trail today in the hills above my house.
The trail was really steep going up and seemed to take forever, followed by a descent that, though going the exact same route felt all of about 30 seconds. Now I understand why everyone goes on about riding the lifts at the ski resorts.

Timp Trail Waterfall

Timp Trail Waterfall

This raging waterfall was one we passed on a hike on Mt. Timpanogos near where I live. It flows down the mountain carving out a huge channel in the snow pack, and avalanche areas from last winters snow. Down river it has carved a tunnel about 3 meters tall and 100 meters long under an avalanche slide. A family decided it was a good idea to climb around on the slide area even knowing there was a severe risk of the ice cavern giving way.....These are the people you hear about being air lifted to the hospital, or dying for lack of common sense.
